Bold Screen Spotlight

Editorial policy

Bold Screen Spotlight aims to explain screen design accurately and plainly. We distinguish observation from interpretation, identify uncertainty where it matters and make changes when a published piece needs correction.

Accuracy and context

We check that explanations match the examples and terms used in a piece. Design effects can depend on context, audience and device, so we avoid presenting one response as universal. Where a claim cannot be established from the material at hand, we narrow it or leave it out rather than state it as fact.

Independence

Editorial choices are made for reader relevance, not as a condition of a partnership. A commercial relationship does not guarantee coverage, a favourable description or approval of editorial copy.

Corrections

Readers can use the Contact page to flag an error, with the article and the point at issue identified as clearly as possible. We review correction requests and amend material when warranted; a meaningful correction is identified in the article so readers can see that it changed.

Partner material and illustrations

Paid, supplied or otherwise partner-supported material is labelled clearly where it appears, and its commercial relationship is not presented as independent editorial coverage. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; when that is the case, the illustration is identified as AI-generated.
